Support for Every French Program

Whatever French program your child is in, lessons follow what they’re learning at school.

Core French

French is taught as a subject for part of the school day. Lessons build vocabulary, grammar and the confidence to speak up in class.

Extended French

Several subjects are taught in French, so students need stronger reading and writing. Lessons reinforce what’s covered in class and keep your child on pace.

French Immersion

Most of the school day happens in French, and falling behind in the language can affect other subjects too. Lessons target the reading, writing, dictées and presentations that matter most.

Help at Every Age

Kindergarten to grade 5

Elementary

Phonics, reading, vocabulary games and story-based learning that build a love of French early.

Grades 6 to 8

Middle School

Grammar foundations, verb conjugation, paragraph writing, dictées and oral presentations.

Grades 9 to 12

High School

Essay writing, grammar accuracy, test and exam review, and speaking practice for high-school French courses.

Parents’ Questions

What ages do you teach?

Carla teaches children and teens from kindergarten to grade 12, as well as adults. Lessons are adapted to each child's age, level and school program.

Can you help if no one at home speaks French?

Yes. Carla is bilingual and explains in English when needed, so your child always understands, even if no one at home speaks French.

Can you help my child catch up in French Immersion?

Yes. Lessons focus on the language skills behind the struggle, such as reading comprehension, writing and vocabulary, so your child can keep up in class and feel confident again.

Do online French lessons work for kids?

Yes. Online lessons are interactive, with games, visuals and conversation, and they save travel time. In-person lessons are also available in Mississauga.

How often should my child have lessons?

Many students do well with one or two lessons a week during the school year, with extra sessions before tests or report cards. Carla recommends a schedule after the first lesson.

Do you help with high-school French?

Yes, including grade 9 to 12 Core French and French Immersion courses, essays, oral presentations and exam review.
